For those of you who are fans of my cartoony style, have I got some good news for you! It’s been a longtime dream of mine to publish my own art book showcasing my cartooning work, after buying and window-shopping for titles in the categories of animation art. And now, after lots of brainstorming, I proudly present to you my brand-new passion project: Smiley Bits! The Cartoony Art of D.J. Berry!
This is a party mix snack bag accumulating original cartoon character designs, fully colored illustrations, rough sketches, and loose doodles that I’ve drawn digitally between 2018 and mid-2021. While some of the art was already shared publicly, a lot of them were created EXCLUSIVELY with their inclusion in “Smiley Bits!” in mind. Goofy-looking animals, stylized people, cute pinups, and some weirdo creatures (like the titular Mr. Smiley) are what’s expected to make up this collection’s content. Occasional notes would pop up to give some context or humorous commentary on any given art piece. It is an ideal 8.5 x 11-inch pal for cartoon art fans alike!
