BIO

D.J. Berry has several years of experience in 2D animation, creating characters, storyboarding, illustrating, and producing art in a variety of different cartoon styles. The skills that D.J. has gained were through self-teaching and training on different reputable online sources. He is proficient in using Krita, Clip Studio Paint, and Toon Boom for crafting his artwork and 2D animation layers. Additionally, After Effects is used in his strong point for creating compositions and motion graphics, such as his logo remakes. When doing his work, he shows a keen knack for observing and recapturing certain details of the original source material used as a reference and combining it with his own art style. A big accomplishment occurred in 2019 when he produced the entirety of his first animated short film The Grover Guys independently and got it submitted to a film festival where it received an honorable mention. He also submitted two 10-second Anijams to the TAIS Animation Showcase: LoopOut Nerds! and Does Contain Nuts!

In 2016, D.J. self-published a children’s book titled The Magic Muffin, which was written, illustrated, and laid out all on his own.  Lastly, in 2021, a second book was published, titled Smiley Bits! The Cartoony Art of D.J. Berry, showcasing his library of original character designs. In addition to his own personal projects, he is successful in providing high-quality art for others through commissions, with a dedication to getting each detail just right to meet the clients’ satisfaction, and delivering them promptly.

D.J. loves to embrace his many artistic influences to help shape his style and inspire his passion for executing his creative mindset. Each time he completes a project, there would be a mixture of enthusiasm and pride that manifests inside him, and each occurrence of that happening gets stronger the more his skills expand. With all of this being said, D.J. wants to inspire other young people on the autism spectrum who strive to make their desires come true, whether they want to be an artist, or do something else that would entertain and enlighten audiences.
